chaotic and unproductive

when the opportunity to spend a week in the tuscan countryside with some of my closest girl friends under the guise of a "work trip" presented itself, it was impossible to turn down. relaxation took the form of morning mimosas by the pool and days spent painting together right along the italian countryside.
it was cooking lessons and wine tastings and flower arrangements. it was shopping and laughter, failures and mistakes and newly discovered talents. it was sight seeing, moments of remniscing and nostalgia, and brand new memories made together. life goes by too fucking fast sometimes. it feels good to just exist for a bit and be reminded of what's truly important. of who is truly important.
i feel happier than i've been in a long time; more rooted, more settled, more content. sometimes it takes a change of pace and a change of scenery to make you truly appreciate life and all of its little beauties.
